"We are pleased to add Dick Wilson to the RPM family," said Frank C. Sullivan,
RPM president and chief operating officer. "Dick is a strong team leader with an
impressive track record of improving top- and bottom-line performance through
strategic market development and profit improvement initiatives."
Wilson, 49, spent nearly 20 years with The Sherwin-Williams Company, a $5
billion international manufacturer, distributor and direct seller of coatings
and related products. During his tenure, Wilson held a variety of management
positions, last serving as executive vice president of the company's Consumer
Group. Wilson led the integration process that created this unified business
group from four independent operating divisions, and developed its strategic
business plan, which focused on improving revenues and ensuring long-term
profitability. In 1999, he left Sherwin-Williams to serve as the president and
chief operating officer of a privately owned, Cleveland-based company, where he
implemented a business strategy that increased sales approximately 12 percent
and improved delivery capacity by nearly 20 percent.
"I look forward to joining Carboline's talented management team and assisting it
in building upon a rich history of operational success and leading market
position," said Wilson.
Wilson, a native of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, received a bachelor's degree from
Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, in 1974 and earned his master's degree in
business administration from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland in
1979. Wilson and his wife, Joan, have one daughter. The family plans to relocate
to St. Louis, where Carboline is headquartered.
